When you purchase a wine cooler from SWISSCAVE, you can be sure you are getting only the best quality. And for us, the best quality also means high durability. Until now, our devices have come with a two-year warranty from the date of purchase, as required by law.

But this will change in the future: Starting September 1, 2024, all newly purchased SWISSCAVE wine coolers will come with a five-year warranty from the date of purchase (excluding Classic Edition devices).

We are absolutely convinced of the quality of our devices, which is why this step, extending well beyond the legal warranty period, was an easy decision for us.
Browse our selection of wine coolers and choose the perfect model for your needs. When you purchase a device with a 5-year warranty, such as one from our Deluxe Edition or Premium Edition, you can be confident that the highest level of wine enjoyment meets outstanding quality.

SWISSCAVE 5-year warranty

Conditions and scope of services

SWISSCAVE AG offers the buyer of a wine refrigerator or cigar humidor from the Kitchen, Premium and Luxury product lines a comprehensive, voluntary warranty that is valid for a period of five years from the date of purchase. This warranty serves to keep the circumstances and costs for the customer as low as possible in the event of a qualified repair case. The warranty is in addition to, and does not limit, the buyer's statutory rights, in particular with regard to liability for defects and warranty.

I. Scope of the SWISSCAVE warranty

The SWISSCAVE warranty applies to all markets in which SWISSCAVE is represented with its own warehouse and equipment installed there for private use that was purchased from 01.09.2024. *Excluding discount promotions

II. Guarantor

The guarantor is SWISSCAVE AG with registered office in 8808 Freienbach, Switzerland. SWISSCAVE AG is responsible for carrying out the warranty services in accordance with the following conditions.

III. Commencement and Duration of the Warranty

  1. Warranty period: The warranty is provided for a period of five years, beginning with the conclusion of the purchase contract for the device.
  2. Warranty extension: An extension or renewal of the warranty period does not come into force due to warranty services, such as replacement or repair of the device. The warranty period remains unchanged, even after repair or replacement has been completed.
  3. Validity for replacement devices: if the device is replaced under warranty, the remaining warranty period will be transferred to the replacement device.

IV. Assertion and requirements of the SWISSCAVE guarantee

In order for the customer to be able to make use of the SWISSCAVE guarantee, the following requirements must be met:

  1. The device was purchased directly from SWISSCAVE.
  2. The customer can present the proof of purchase and prove the serial number of the device.
  3. The device has been properly installed and used according to the instructions for use.
  4. The warranty is tied to the buyer and is not transferable to third parties.

V. Scope of services of the SWISSCAVE warranty and general maintenance conditions (AWB)

The SWISSCAVE warranty offers comprehensive protection and includes the following services:

1. Scope of warranty services:

Defects in the device that occur during the warranty period and are demonstrably due to material or manufacturing defects will be repaired free of charge by the SWISSCAVE customer service center or an authorized SWISSCAVE customer service center and will bear the associated costs, in particular working time and travel costs as well as any additional repair material costs that may be required. If there is a defect in parts of the interior as well as handles, shelves and cover panels, SWISSCAVE reserves the right to send the owner the corresponding spare parts for self-assembly free of charge.

2. Diagnosis:

Before sending a technician, a detailed fault diagnosis is carried out. This is done by phone or e-mail and includes:

- Request information about the conditions of use of the device.

- Measurements and evaluations of operating values such as temperature or humidity levels.

- Checking for atypical noise sources or other possible signs of a defect.

Multiple queries may be necessary to ensure efficient diagnosis, so that the fault can be corrected by remote diagnosis or a single technician if possible.

3. Replacement device:

If it turns out during the warranty period that a repair is not economically sensible or impossible, the customer will be provided with an equivalent replacement device. This replacement device can be an identical or a similar model. In this case, the remaining warranty period is transferred to the replacement device.

4. Maximum repair effort:

The maximum repair effort or partial entitlement to a replacement device (if repair is not economical) decreases linearly with increasing age, as follows:

Age: Total expenditure in % of the device purchase price (net without accessories):

1st-3rd year: 100%

4th year: 80%

5th year: 60%

VI. Exclusion of Warranty Service and Termination of Warranty

Not all damage and defects are covered by the SWISSCAVE warranty. The following cases are excluded in particular:

  1. Improper handling: Damage resulting from improper installation, use, or storage of the device is not covered by the warranty.
  2. External influences: Damage caused by external influences such as transport damage, weather conditions or natural events are not covered by the warranty.
  3. Unauthorized repairs: Any repair that has not been carried out by SWISSCAVE or an authorized service center will void the warranty.
  4. Wear parts: Parts such as door seals, lighting and other age-related wear and tear are not covered by the warranty.

In addition, the warranty will be void if the nameplate or device number has been removed or made illegible, or if unauthorized spare parts have been used.

VII. Statute of Limitations for Warranty Claims

Claims under the warranty expire six months after discovery of the defect. This period begins from the time the defect first became known to the buyer.

VIII. Disclaimer and Other Terms

SWISSCAVE is not liable for damages caused by intentional or grossly negligent conduct. Liability for indirect damages, such as lost profit, loss of data or spoiled refrigerated goods, is excluded. SWISSCAVE assumes no liability for normal wear and tear or consumables. In addition to this document, the GTC and AWC of SWISSCAVE AG apply.
