Perfect Cigar Climate Starts Outside the Humidor

Perfect Cigar Climate Starts Outside the Humidor

1. Room Temperature: Stability Outside Means Stability Inside

A humidor’s performance is only as consistent as the room it lives in. For best results, place your humidor in a space with a stable temperature between 20°C and 25°C (68–77°F). Avoid heat sources, A/C vents, and direct sunlight – fluctuations force the system to overcompensate and lead to microclimate instability.

2. Ambient Humidity: Less is More

Keep ambient humidity below 60%. Why? If the surrounding air is too moist, the internal climate control system can’t regulate as precisely – and that may affect your cigars’ flavor and aging process. Your SWISSCAVE humidor is precise, but even precision has its limits when the environment pushes back.

3. Our Recommendation: The Ideal Settings

To ensure optimal conditions inside the humidor, we recommend:

  • Temperature: 2–3°C (3.5–5.5°F) lower than the room (e.g., 18°C / 64°F if the room is 21°C / 70°F)

  • Relative Humidity: Around 70%

These settings support proper maturation, flavor retention, and prevent mold or dryness – no matter how long you store your cigars.

4. When Conditions Aren’t Ideal…

If your room is humid or unusually cold, the humidor’s internal sensors will detect it – and you may notice slight delays or fluctuations. That’s not a flaw. It’s a feature.
SWISSCAVE technology measures what others guess.
It reflects the true climate conditions with honesty and accuracy – giving you total control.

Conclusion: Precision Needs Partnership

A SWISSCAVE humidor is a precision instrument – but it thrives in the right setting.
Your role? A stable room climate. Our role? Unmatched precision.

Together, they create the perfect cigar environment – so every cigar you enjoy is exactly as it should be: full of flavor, perfectly humidified, and expertly aged.
